The Catalan-based car brand has had a few pedigree It was the most boring car I ever owned. Now that’s out of the way it was also the best commuting car I ever owned. Super practical, reliable, has all the tech you need and the 1.5TSI evo engine is incredibly well engineered. The thing uses practically no fuel. My best run to work was 58mpg average over 35 miles on the motorway at 75mph. I’d prefer a Leon. But my second car was a 2018 115hp 1.0 tsi manual. I absolutely ragged the car everywhere, never serviced it on time & didn’t really maintain it, but it NEVER gave me one single problem. Good on fuel, plenty of gadgets apple carplay cruise control air con auto lights etc. i wrote it off in 2021.
